This February, Luminousred welcomed a talented new team member, Magdalena, as our industrial design intern. Over the next few months, she’ll assist us in developing an exciting new B2B product as part of our commitment to innovation and expanding our product line.
Who We Are and What We Stand For
At Luminousred, our mission is to enhance human healthspan by creating devices that supercharge cells using the power of light. With our founders' expertise in lighting technology and psychology, and our dedication to scientific research and personalized support, we focus on improving lives through light-hacking technology.
Currently, we offer six size options of our flagship at-home red light therapy device, Luminousred. However, as the world increasingly embraces biohacking, we are doubling down on research and development to expand our product portfolio. Magdalena’s role plays a vital part in driving this innovation.
A Quick Chat with Magdalena
We sat down with Magdalena to learn more about her journey and her first impressions of working with us:
Hi Magdalena! Can you tell us about yourself and why you chose to intern at Luminousred?
Hi, I’m Magdalena, currently in my sixth semester of Industrial Design studies and soon-to-be Bachelor of Arts and Design. My creative passion began during my time at a technical college for wood technology and interior design. When I saw Luminousred’s internship offer through my university, it instantly resonated with me, so I applied.
How did your first day/week go?
It was amazing! Babsi and Thomas welcomed me warmly, took me out to lunch, and even provided me with a red light therapy device to use during my internship. I felt incredibly valued and appreciated from the start.
What are you most excited about?
I’m thrilled about the exchange of ideas. Contributing my university experience to a real-world product development process has been incredibly rewarding. This is my first time working on a project aimed at series production, and I’m eager to see how it evolves into a final product.
What does a typical workday look like?
Thomas and I often collaborate in meetings to brainstorm and refine ideas, while Babsi provides valuable input. I also work independently on tasks, balancing remote work with weekly in-office sessions. The flexibility allows us to stay connected while being productive.
How is the work environment different from your previous experiences?
The work-life balance here is outstanding. I have ample time for my hobbies, friends, family, and even my dog! The supportive and flexible environment has made the experience both professional and enjoyable.
What are your goals after the internship?
I plan to pursue a master’s degree in Industrial Design. While I’m still exploring my specific interests, I’m excited about where the future will take me.
Excited for the Future
We’re beyond excited to have Magdalena on board and can’t wait to see the creative ideas and designs she brings to the table. Her contributions are a key part of our ongoing mission to innovate and bring cutting-edge red light therapy solutions to the market.
Stay tuned for updates on our new product developments!
